Tijuana

I was going crazy over staying at home everyday working on this album project so I spontaneously decided to book a day tour to San Diego + Tijuana, Mexico a few days beforehand.

I loved Mexico. Apart from being restricted areas due to danger and my border incident that I will tell you all soon - I had a lot of crazy fun. Who wouldn't enjoy free shots on behalf of Cinco de Mayo, 2 for 1 Margaritas, bartering, shopping and immersing yourself in a brand new culture?!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves and then I'll tell you the story later on..

Okay so we got on the bus and it took 2 hours to get into the border because of the Cinco de Mayo celebrations. We had random street merchants walk on the bus, I bought a bag of churros for $1.50 (bargain!)

Its weird how religious they are but also how anti-religious their traditional art is like..

I got the cutest leather handmade shoes for $20 bucks!

When we got to the border, we were the last ones on the bus to walk through customs. Bailey didn't get a departure card from the officer in LAX in DECEMBER when we came so we had trouble getting in. We got sent to the Permits office with a long line of Mexicans to apply for a permit. We were so bummed.

We hadn't even waited that long yet until I got a call from the bus company office saying that they had left us and we had to find our own way home. I was freaking out. Here we were, unable to get through to America, stuck in Mexico at a dangerous border city. WAAAAAAAAAAAAA! We waited 3 hours and finally got some service. We had to pay $6 and we said that we shouldn't seeing as it was the American airport officials that forgot to hand Bailey his departure card.

The lady was so wound up that she started screaming saying something like, "WELL IT WOULD BE OUR FAULT ON OUR SIDE OF THE BORDER BUT YOU'RE COMING FROM MEXICO SO WE DON'T CARE WHAT WE DID. YOU'RE NOT IN OUR COUNTRY SO YOU HAVE NO CHOICE!"

We were like, "Oh geez, we missed the bus because of this mistake and she should change her tampon!" LOL! Anyway, we finally made it over the border after about 5 hours, by then we didn't know what to do.

Bailey's friend who lived in San Diego picked us up and took us to the train station. Luckily there was one in an hour and for a whopping $27 each we got on the Amtrak coastline train. It took 2 hours to get home to Anaheim. It was 11:30pm by then. Tony picked us up and took us home.

We were so relieved to be back. THANK GOLLY WE'RE HOME SAFE!

I'm glad you got back to America safely! Mexico looks pretty awesome, minus the whole border issue.

Also saw your 'snippets' video, can't wait to hear your entire album :) Hope you're well, Miss Deena!
